Editing help please..........?

Since the dawn of mankind the ocean has served us: sometimes sacrificing herself to quench our thirst, sometimes sacrificing her fish to quench our hunger. She is a gift of the Heavens; like a Goddess she expects to be treated, but never had she hesitated to wipe mud from our feet nor complain of carrying us overseas. She continues to love and care, unfelt only because she is unable to speak. Like a mother she has been, and a like a mother she ought to be treated. Care for her when you can; lest once she is lost, she will never be found again.
