Gay Goth Guy with a question, Why is Facebook so cruel?

I live in the great state of Texas, I ride horses for a living so the dating area has been. Lacking as hell, but there is at least one other gay guy I know. We're not friends or anything, but I'm not going to say I haven't fallen for him. But the thing is, for some cruel reason because I know I don't have a chance. Facebook keeps showing up on one of the sidebars telling me its his birthday. We're not even friends on there, why is facebook so mean? Shoving what I can't have in my face...
