I lived in a small hamlet called red earth creek. it is a rig town surrounded by a bunch of reservations. the whole 5 years that i was there, i had a recurring dream that there was a tall, lanky, dirty man with long blonde hair and he was trying to kill me. i was always doing really impossible feats, such as pulling myself into my room from 20 feet, etc. then after a couple years, my sisters and brother were involved too and i was always trying to keep them safe. in the last 2 years of living there, my parents bought horses and we had a wooden fence in the yard. it was always snowy outside with the dim, kind of weird winter night light outside. we were always safe in the fence or in the shadow of my dads company truck. it was like he couldn't see us but was always stalking right on the edge of the fence or shadow waiting for us to make a move. it was endless and when we started to get tired from running and climbing and jumping from the ground to the trailer and back, he would get one of my sisters or brother and i would try to stop him but before i could do anything about him being there, i woke up. i was between 12 and17 when i lived there and my siblings are from 1 to 8 years younger then me (3 sisters and a brother). my parents never woke up while we were being chased. it was kind of disturbing for me as a teenager to have a continuing dream this horrific. and since i have moved from red earth i haven't had it since. i was wondering if there was any meaning to be found in a dream of this context and if anybody could tell me what it means?

We have a black angus heifer that is about a year old. She is in her own pen that is about half an acre big. She is fed twice a day with a sweet feed/Corn mix. She has free feed of cane hay and she get's alfalfa everyday too. She has clean water in her pen. None of that is new to her, and there has been no change in her feeding schedule or food. There is a steer calf in the pen next to her. There are two horses in another pen around her. But none of them have access to her. Today when we woke up she is mooing very loud and running around. I have heart failure and I have been told to keep my fluid intake to 1.5 liters. I am on strong diuretic also. My problem is that I can constantly thirsty. My mare had a tail that was decent in length but it thinned out towards the end, So i chopped off the part of her tail that was thinned out because i'd rather have a horse with a short tail for a little while rather than have a tail that became really thin towards the bottom. Tips/HOw to win an equtation medal? Horseback riding?

(real situation happend yesterday) and when he goes bonkers he can literally bring you down to the ground with one hand. and nothing we do seems to calm him down. hes on meds and they do absolutly nothing. his psychiatrist who is supposed to be the best in our state has absolutly no personality and her only advice is to put him in an institiute. and that was on the first day she met him as a lil boy when he wasnt so aggresive. the only reason why we are still with her is because noone else will take him. weve tried other and they gave the same song and a dance put him in a home. were at wits end, and we dont belive in putting him in a home. and as for things weve tried at home, weve tried an art and dance, program for autistic kids and that turned out to be a total joke. we attempted to try the whole horse back thing but before we even made any appt they said it wasnt a good idea since he was aggreisve and could spoke the horse. and we tried the whole glutein free ting for about a good 3 months. but not only did we see any results it was coslty for. keep in mind were not the richest people. and as i said in the question he was diagnosed as low functiong, highly autisc i belive somthing to that effect. so do you have any kind of possible idea that i could do to help my lil brother, hes getting older and stronger. any at all suggestions would be great appreciated.

Do not feed them iceburg lettuce! Feed them dark leafy greens such as mustard greens, collard greens, and romane lettuce. Alfalfa hay is great, but I could never get my babies to eat it. Just remember they need a high fiber low protein diet. Carrots are ok, brocolli is bad. Fruits should only be used as a treat. No citrus! When they are babies, hydration is critical and sometimes a luke warm soaking is needed once a day. Just soak them for a few minutes in a very shallow bowl.

When working out water or Gatorade?

hey guys even though logic pretty much determines that water is always better than Gatorade let me let you down on something. This is going to be the first day of a scheduled routine for me working out. And when I work out or sweat I tend to produce this very think hard to swallow saliva. I'm sure there is a lot of people who know what I'm talking about. Now if I decide to have water...unless its freezing cold it doesn't tend to get rid of my quench and actually makes me kinda nauseous. Is swat ointment safe to put on eye soars?

I would be afraid of getting it in the horses eyes. They do have a roller that is made for the horses face but really a fly mask is the way to go whether the horses like it or not. I'm surprised. When the flies are bad my mare can't wait to stick her head into her fly mask. Swat is kind of expensive if you are planning to cover the horses with it and I don't think it works as well as an oil based fly repellent. I got mine at walmart for less than $20. It's concentrated and has lasted forever and because it is oil based you only have to apply it every few days instead of every day so its way less of a hassle and works better than water based products. Make sure it works for all the different types of insects you are having problems with. Just read the label.

Okay, everyday I think about fighting. It stays on my mind at least 85% of the time during the course of one day. I never used to be like this. it is quiet difficult to train a horse to drive. or at least in my experience. it took me a solid 7 months to get my dartmoor pony to sit in the drivers seat correctly.. but with positive reinforcement youre horse will eventually understand what is wanted of it.

I have an elastic breastplate. I'm starting to do higher jumps now, 3ft+, just wondering if a breastplate would help. My saddle fits my horse and up until now there hasn't been much slipping. to be honest, there isn't much to halter classes to begin with. It is just a matter of walking and trotting your horse on a lead and having it square up for the judge. Showmanship (another version of halter) is just a pattern you memorize before you go into the ring. The basics of halter: walk, trot, backup, square up. Squaring up you can do at home by moving your horse's feet to the right position. Every horse knows how to walk on a lead if it is halter broke..and we teach our horses to trot by running and tugging on the lead to get them to catch up with us. Backing up, just put pressure on its chest and make it back up..practice practice practice!

Big damaging falls(my right shoulder is smaller than the left because of the scar tissue ive accumalated there) and small falls that you laugh about. Ive cried on a horse, ive fallen and due to the horse running over me had to walk back with no pants (now its funny -then it wasnt) and you know what ? I wouldnt change it. Ive fallen so much im not scared anymore. You go through these weird patches when it everything feels like its off...then you come right again. All of these experiences are gold to your experience. A top competing rider who has never fallen off or cried or gotten mud on their shoes still has less experience as you. Shin pain- don't think it's shin splints.?

I developed pain in both my shins and at first I thought it was shin splints. I gave myself a week off of excessive exercise. I looked up ways to strengthen the muscle and did those exercises. I ride horses so I have to keep those muscles strong anyways. For the past 3 weeks, the pain in my shins has been pretty constant, before and after riding my horse but not during. Running is out of the question- the pain is so severe that my legs sometimes feel like they're going to give out- so I stop running (logical). I've figured out how to go up stairs so they don't hurt half as bad by not straightening my legs. Going down stairs is pretty much a crap-shoot as to if I'm going to fall or not, I feel like I can't support myself. Should I head to the doctor and maybe some physical therapy? Any ideas? Horse just turned up lame?

Sorry to say, but if you want your horse to have the best care possible than you should have a professional look at it. A horse’s ability to walk is its lively hood and I wouldn't take my chances. I have 3 horses and anytime something happens that I can't explain or fix I call my vet. I love my horses to death and I would never ask for advice on Yahoo Answers in fear of it being wrong. If your horse does go lame, let it be free on your farm or grounds to live out a long peaceful life. I wouldn't jump to conclusions though, like i said, seek some medical help from someone who knows what they are talking about. Don't rely on someone from this site.

I'm not sure. Try asking people with similar sized/breed horses what saddles they have. I'd really recommend trying to go to a store or trying a similar saddle AT a store and seeing how they fit. You could also try to find an online size chart, and get your horse's measurements.

But a few days before the big trial, someone tries to poison the riders horses so that they are not able to compete. Horoscopes: Are good manners important to you?

Yes indeed.. My parents raised us kids with good manners and I continued this wonderful important skill with my daughter. Take "Thank You" for example. I had 4 stepkids and my daghter for 10 years. They didn't have manners. I cooked the dinner, served up the plates, actually took them to each child and held their plate until they said "thank you." I wasn't letting go of that plate till I heard (with eye contact) "thank you." It worked. I had done all the work and at the very least they could say "thank you." I was so proud when we visited others and they were so polite and used good manners. Manners need to be taught until the manners become a habit. After a certain age you can blame the older kids, but really, we only know what we know. I also insisted on "yes mam" and "no sir." It also became a habit. It is our job as parents to teach manners. They seem to be going by the wayside. Sad. Truly sad. And yes, I do still have good manners. As I said, good manners become a part of you, a habit. Yeah, with your Libra moon I'll bet you can't stand it when somebody eats with their mouth open. That grosses me out too though I have no Libra planets. The two manners I believe are most important are thank you and yes mam and no sir. Oh, another great thing to raise your children with is Proper English. Sorry, but I'm one of those people who just put it on my horse and went riding with no problem at all but have you tried the Dr. Cook's bitless bridle. It is so much better. It is the only type of non pain based bridle out there. I have used all kinds of hackamores, long shanked, short shanked, etc and I love the Dr. Cook's better than any of them. I have more refined control and you don't have to worry about losing your balance and pulling on the reins because you can't hurt your horse. My mare just loves it.

Looking for the name of a book about a girl with diabetes and has a horse.?

I read a book when I was 12 about a girl who had diabetes and took insulin shots. She had a pet horse and rode alot. She was really tired of her diabetes and kept trying to give herself shots in the same places even though they were calloused over because it was less painful in those areas. I remember that she went riding on day for too long and passed out on her horse and was going in diabetic shock. I think the story went that her horse either got her home or went for help. I would have read this back in about 1978 or 79. Was a really good story.

Could I have diabetes?

I am 13 years old. I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and an allergy to soy, dairy and eggs. I have been noticing that I am extremely thirsty most of the time, and nothing quenches my thirst. Yesterday I was shopping with my mom and I got extremely tired suddenly. I did not have the strength/energy to go on.
